ARTIST STATEMENT
My work explores the intersection between the human figure, symbolism, and restrained emotion. Through a figurative pictorial language, I construct images that move between the intimate and the mythical, inviting viewers to pause and uncover layers that speak of universal aspirations, conflicts, and vulnerabilities.
Self-taught in my formation, my practice is nourished by a direct relationship with materials and a continuous search for color, form, and gesture. Along the way, engaging with art history — from Caravaggio to Hopper, from Monet to Matisse — has been a source of inspiration, with Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele standing out as key references: the subtle brilliance of Klimt, the raw tension of the Schiele.
Each painting is an open fragment of narrative, a space where myth, psychology, and reality coexist. My aim is to create works with strength and presence, capable of resonating with those who encounter them and extending the dialogue between figurative tradition and contemporary sensibility.
